This is a humorous look at the Dos and Don'ts of hanging a high priced piece of technology on your wall. Guided by my editor, Mike Wood, we built a 'top 10' list of things that could go wrong and then I put my own sick slant on the possible outcomes of not following our advice.

This two pager was done in quick order to help out my editor, Krissy Rushing, who need a couple of pages 'yesterday' to fill out her September issue. I did the interviews the next day and had text for her the following morning. It was good fun because I knew very little about LED lighting when she called!

Home Theater Magazine is a great mag for the do-it-yourselfers. In this piece I provide the readers with the basics of lighting control and then review 4 systems that are designed to be installed in existing structures without expensive re-wiring.

Maureen, Editor of Home Theater magazine, asked me to design and install a lighting system for their new reviewing studio. Since I'm NO installer the technical editor, Mike Wood, did the dirty work for me and we had the system up and running in a day!

This was my first article on lighting design and products. It's still one of my favorites as they let me use as much space as I needed.

The second article of mine in this issue is a review of a multi-room A/V system in the Malibu hills. Both of these articles had to be proofed and finished while I was grounded in Houston on Sept11th. Amid the chaos in the airport hotel I had to contact my sources and finish both pieces on the communal computer in the lobby. Now I take my laptop EVERYWHERE.

In my time as a designer for a custom install company I've found that most homeowners are grossly underprepared for the process. This helps to shed some light on the whole idea.
